Steel Source Africa is a privately owned steel company specialising in trading and warehousing in Sub Saharan Africa.
Our business model entails the following:
- Trading into East, West and Southern Africa in conjunction with our partners, the Steelinvest Group,
- Managing the export of products for Universal Mining & Chemical Industries Limited (UMCIL) into surrounding countries like DRC, Tanzania, Malawi, Mozambique, Zimbabwe, Botswana, Namibia and South Africa.

Steel Source Africa (Pty) Ltd started operations in July 2007, its shareholders having more than 20 years’ experience in the trading of steel products in Africa. Apart from exporting steel products from South Africa to African countries, Steel Source Africa through its association with Steelinvest (Jersey) Ltd (www.steelinvestgroup.com) also:
Supports its African markets with steel products from recognised steel mills in China, India and Turkey.
Support buyers with logistic and finance solutions.
Steel Source Africa started an important regional relationship with Universal Mining & Chemical Industries Ltd of Zambia (www.umcil.co.zm) in 2012, Whereby Steel Source Africa manages all export sales on behalf of UMCIL
